- Tektites (from Greek tektos, molten) are natural glass objects, up to a few centimeters in size,
which — according to most scientists — have been formed by the impact of large meteorites or asteroids
on the Earth's surface. Theory is that Earthly material was blasted off the Earths' surface into the
upper atmosphere and then re-deposited back on the Earth in a new location. The Earthly material has been super-heated
into a molton form and stretched into teardrop shapes with burn patterns and curves upon re-entry.
- All these specimens are complete-unbroken specimens, and have outstanding burn patterns and distinctive and
unusual shapes!
