Very Large Turritella Specimen (021017b)
- Name: Cerithium tiarella “Turritella”
- Age: Eocene Age – Age 40 Million yrs
- Location: Southern France
- Natural Interior “Whorl” Casting.
- After death as this large gastropod lay on the ocean bottom it became filled with soft sea bottom sediment. Later this mixture turned to stone and the exterior shell dissolved away leaving the perfect interior Whorl casting.
